Farewell Aultbea

Thanks For The Privilege

I write this a few days before my induction to the Partick congregation. It was difficult to preach my last sermons on 20th April and to pack up and leave our home at Pier Road the following Thursday and Friday. To say goodbye to people you have grown to love and respect is not easy. To realise that I will not see many of them again in this world is a sobering thought. My only consolation is that I have sought to preach Christ to them.

The congregation of Poolewe and Aultbea is an ideal congregation for a minister's first charge. They are weĊ‚coming, loyal, devoted, undestanding and loving.  I have found that they have shown all of these virtues, and more, towards me and my family during our five and a half years in their midst.

I do hope that what I've learnt from them I may be able to use in my new congregation.

Farewell brethren it was an honour and privilege to serve you.

Acts 20:32 "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."
